SCRIP Cards
The The Great Lakes SCRIP program is a fundraising tool used by St. Mary's Academy families. When you purchase SCRIP cards, you are purchasing gift certificates that are used just like cash to purchase everyday expenses like food, clothing, and other essentials, and with every purchase, you earn revenue for your family and for St. Mary's Academy. Groceries, clothing, toys, gifts and even gasoline can be purchased with SCRIP.
Every SCRIP card you purchase has a percentage assigned to the total value. For instance, if a $100 Big Y card carries a 6% profit, then the total profit is $6.00. St. Mary's Academy has set up a 50/50 sharing program with our families based on that profit. Therefore, $3.00 would come off of the individual families tuition in the following school year, and $3.00 would return to St. Mary's Academy. It's easy to see how quickly this can add up just based on typical, daily purchases we all make.
Last year one of our participating families had $700 deducted from their tuition.
An organization, like ours, of 150+ families, easily spends between one and two million dollars per year on food, clothing and other essentials. If each of these families actively purchased and used scrip for these purchases, we could raise as much as $40,000-$80,000 per year --without spending an additional penny.

Below, please find the SCRIP order form. Simply fill out the cards you would like to receive, along with a check made payable to St. Mary's Academy, and the order will be placed for you. Orders are typically submitted on Thursday morning's and distributed to families the following Tuesday.
